Carter Creek Winery’s Plateau White Named Top White Wine Champion

JOHNSON CITY, Texas – Carter Creek Winery, located in the heart of Texas Hill Country and owned by the Carter family, announced it has earned top recognition at the 2026 Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition held earlier this month.

Carter Creek’s Plateau White, Texas High Plains, 2024, was named Top White Wine Champion, securing a place among the competition’s Top 13 Champion Award Winners. The wine also received a Gold Award, selected from 3,127 entries evaluated by a panel of 130 judges.

The award-winning Plateau White showcases a fresh, brassy-green hue with delicate layers of stone fruit and vibrant citrus aromas that rise from the glass. Lively acidity enhances its structure, making it an exceptional companion to a variety of dishes as well as a beautifully balanced wine to enjoy on its own.

Of the 3,127 total entries in the competition, 567 were submitted by Texas wineries. In addition to the top honor for the 2024 Plateau White, Carter Creek Winery earned multiple awards, including:

  • Double Gold and Texas Class Champion: Carter Creek Plateau White 2023
  • Gold and Texas Class Champion: Carter Creek Primitivo 2023
  • Silver: Carter Creek Roussanne 2023; Carter Creek Plateau Red 2023; Carter Creek Tempranillo Rosé Sparkling (also named Reserve Texas Class Champion); Carter Creek Tempranillo 2023; and Carter Creek Chenin Blanc 2023 (also named Texas Class Champion)
  • Bronze: Carter Creek Estate Red 2023
