We had an incredible stay at Carter Creek Ranch in Johnson City for my birthday weekend! It was the perfect getaway with great value and everything you could possibly need right at your fingertips. A relaxing pool area and spa to tasting room and great on-site restaurant, the entire experience was fun and easy on beautiful grounds full of butterflies and hummingbirds. A special shoutout to Jordan at the spa for very relaxing massages, and to Theresa for a facial that left my skin absolutely glowing. Even my husband, who's typically not one for spa days, enjoyed the experience We also loved our visit to 290 Brewery. The food was fantastic, and the staff made us feel right at home. Adam, our server, was attentive and friendly, and Madelyn impressed us with her knowledge and warm hospitality. We also enjoyed other activities in the area because of the convenience location. A short drive to several charming vineyards and just minutes from the heart of Johnson City. Carter Creek Ranch is the perfect combination of relaxation, convenience, and authentic Hill Country charm. We'll definitely be back!

We loved our stay! Beautiful grounds, super friendly staff and excellent wine, beer and food (we had the Brussels sprouts and pepperoni pizza). A nice touch that the room stay (when booked directly) comes with a complimentary wine tasting - hats off to Katie in the tasting room, she's fantastic! We love the location and that the property is so dog-friendly. We've stayed in or near Fredericksburg many times and Carter Creek will be our new go-to place. The live music and awesome lawn area were the perfect place to enjoy our last glasses of wine for the day and then just walk back to our room. Can't beat that! Our room was clean, tidy and well-appointed. Cheers to future stays!

I went in expecting an average 3-star experience, but Carter Creek completely exceeded my expectations! From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming - the staff were genuinely friendly, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Our room was spotless & spacious. We also enjoyed the restaurant; the food was far better than we expected with generous portions and great presentation. What really impressed me was how well everything was thought out - from the easy check-in to the cozy outdoor areas where you can sit with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. It felt like the perfect weekend escape. I came in thinking it would be "fine" and left planning my next visit. If you're on the fence, give it a try - you might be just as surprised as I was!

This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean, and offer wonderful amenities! The winery itself is gorgeous and so nice to walk around. The best part of it all is how kind all of the staff is! I'd tell anyone to stay here if you're visiting hill country!

Villas are very clean and spacious, and the pool and workout facility are very nice. There is a wine tasting room on site (the wine is quite good, I am a wine club member), and there is a restaurant that sells micro-brew beer. Highly recommend if you want a quiet stay out of town. Only downside: no microwaves in your room & $25/day resort fee.

Carter Creek is a charming winery and resort in the heart of Texas wine country. The expansive property features a winery and tasting room, restaurant, outdoor seating areas, villas and a spa. The villas are small, well appointed cottages that are very comfortable and private. Guests have use of a fitness room and pool, and can make appointments for spa services. I booked a massage and was very pleased with the service, even though I am very picky. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The tasting room and the restaurant both offer wine flights, with very generous pours. My favorite was the 2023 Pinot Grigio. This property is located just outside of Johnson City, making access to the Texas wine country easy, but also providing a rural feel.

Perfectly located at the gateway of Texas Wine Country. Each room is a cabin-like suite with every amenity one could imagine. The food at the 290 Brewery was excellent, as was the beer I tried. Since I was there for business, there are some things I noticed but didn't personally experience - a swimming pool, spa, a lawn with a stellar view for weddings, live music venues, and probably even more. 10/10 would visit again.
