Live Music, Texas Wine, Craft Beer and Bourbon Headline a Month of Fall Celebrations
JOHNSON CITY, Texas – October brings a full calendar of Texas flavors, live music and Hill Country experiences to Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa, where guests can celebrate Texas Wine Month with a lineup that goes well beyond the tasting room. From the resort’s Boots, Barrels and Heroes festival featuring live performances by the Josh Abbott Band to a head-to-head brewery dinner and a wine, bourbon and beer getaway, Carter Creek is giving travelers plenty of reasons to make a fall escape to Texas Wine Country.
Boots, Barrels and Heroes
Saturday, October 3 at 3 p.m.
Carter Creek kicks off its October celebrations with Boots, Barrels and Heroes, an afternoon and evening of live music, Texas wine, craft beer, bourbon and food in support of a cause honoring those who have served.
Headlining the event is the Josh Abbott Band, joined by San Antonio-based Red Dirt band Kin Faux and traditional country artist Logan Papp. In addition to live performances, the festival will feature food vendors, beverage offerings, sponsor activations and a silent charity auction.
General Admission: $59 and includes access to the concert grounds, food and beverage vendors, sponsor activations and silent auction. Children 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult in the General Admission area.
Meet & Greet Experience: $125 and includes a personal meet and greet and photo opportunity with the bands before their performance. The experience is an add-on and does not include event admission; a valid Boots, Barrels and Heroes ticket is required.

Battle of the Breweries 4-Course Beer Pairing Dinner
Saturday, October 17, from 6:30 to 10 p.m.; Welcome Beer at 6:30 p.m., Dinner begins at 7 p.m.
Carter Creek’s Old 290 Brewery & Restaurant puts a competitive spin on the traditional beer-pairing dinner with a four-course experience featuring pours from Old 290 Brewery and Cibolo Creek Brewing Company. The evening begins with a welcome beer at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., with each course paired with a selection from the two Texas breweries. The gastropub-inspired dinner offers an opportunity to compare the breweries’ distinctive approaches to craft beer while enjoying a multi-course meal in the Hill Country.
Tickets are $120 per person for non-members, $100 for members and are available online.
Guests can also turn the dinner into an overnight getaway with a two-night room package beginning Friday, October 16, which includes two tickets to the Battle of the Breweries dinner.
Texas Wine, Bourbon & Beer Package

For travelers looking to experience several of Texas’ signature beverages in one fall getaway, Carter Creek’s Texas Wine, Bourbon & Beer Package combines a stay at the resort with tastings across the Texas Hill Country.
